Through time, photography revealed itself to be more than a job or hobby; but a beautiful practice of patience and presence - reminding me to slow down; to reconcile with time

my pursuit in stillness

With the intent to film myself drumming for YouTube, I purchased my first camera in 2011. Little did I know, I would be lead to a career in photography, and eventually sharing my work in galleries.

Growing up, I was a very shy child, quite sensitive – forcing me to listen and observe my surroundings in a way that kept me curious and intrigued by the world. Into my adult years, when photography found me, I was in a chapter of exploration. Between my curious and creative nature, experimenting behind the lens came natural. From enjoying the process to breaking the rules, I stayed curious. I eventually found my footing, honing my skill and leaning into the artistry of photography; becoming meticulous, polishing and fine tuning – shooting less, observing more.

The photographs I take are a result of being still and falling in love with life... all the moving parts – how light interacts with nature, textures and figures and how they poetically provoke the imagination - translating an unspoken language we understand without words. Through time, photography revealed itself to be more than a job or hobby; but a beautiful practice of patience and presence - reminding me to slow down and to reconcile with time –dwelling in the novelties of life and to be one with nature.
